Another Coach Arrested for Sexual Behavior with a Minor

Greg Voltz, 34, a co-head cheerleading and tumble coach at American Prestige Gymnastics and Cheerleading in Sandusky, Ohio was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon and faces two charges through police in Newtown, Connecticut: • Risk of injury to, or impairing the morals of, children • Enticing a minor

Voltz's Linkedin account lists a current position as assistant head coach and tumbling instructor at American Prestige Gymnastics and Cheerleading and "coaching" among his specialties. It states he has been a cheer and tumbling coach for more than ten years. American Prestige's Facebook page states it has three cheer teams. It also names American Pride Gymnastics and Cheerleading as its business name and another social media lists "Rockets" as its cheer team.

CheerMAD called American Prestige/American Pride for comment but was told to call back when the "manager" would be available. When we called at the designated time, no one answered and a message was left on voice mail.

It is believed Voltz was a member of the University of Cincinnati (2005-2009) cheer team but that could not be confirmed at the time of posting.

Voltz was wanted by authorities in Connecticut for allegedly attempting to entice an underage person to engage in sexual behavior using the internet but the exact nature of the allegations are not clear.

Sandusky Sheriff Pail Sigsworth says Voltz is being held in the Erie County jail without bond pending an extradition hearing on Monday, which will determine if he should be transferred to Connecticut to face the charges.

NOTE from Editor: Compiled from reports by a confidential source, FOX 8 I-Team and Sandusky Registry and verified by his social media accounts. Since I got out of the investigative reporter business when I started CheerMAD, I've passed the story on to USA Today's coverage of the ongoing cheer coach sex with minors reports--Lisa D. Welsh
